So this is exactly what you'd expect it to be. Stainless Steel and does a good job of holding things that are larger than the openings in it.
Importantly, why to get this for a Weber Grill over more generic ones that I've also purchased. It actually fits under the secondary grate. Other ones I've used don't fit under the secondary rack so you end up having to take it off in order to use the basket. I've used this many times for the past two summers and it is great for grilling vegetables. Usually we put in some squash, zucchini, onions, asparagus, and mushrooms. Have not noticed any metallic taste and we do not keep it shiny clean. It has turned black and brown in places due to the food browning. We wash with soap and water and use it again kinda like we would a skillet.
