The bolt cutters actually work better than they appear that they will work. The handles do not seem to be heavy enough to apply the required pressure to cut a bolt or lock. But so far they have withstood the test. It may take a couple of tries to actually cut all the way through, since the bolt or lock must be properly positioned to make a clean cut. Otherwise I am happy with this tool since it is something I use only infrequently.

I needed a bolt cutter to cut chain and it will see regular use. However it would be around salt water all the time, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that stands a good chance of becoming rusted in the very near future. I shopped around and this seemed like the best buy, but you know how it goes, you typically get what you pay for.
