Product Description: BioShock lets you do the impossible as you explore a mysterious underwater city. When your plane crashes, you discover Rapture - an underwater Utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by genetically modified "splicers" and deadly security systems, you have to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology and fascinating characters. As little girls loot the dead, and biologically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn. Now you're trapped, caught in the middle of a genetic war that will challenge both your capacity to survive and your moral allegiance to your own humanity. Make meaningful and mature decisions that culminate in the grand question - do you exploit the innocent survivors of Rapture to save yourself - or risk all to become their savior?

A decent shooter with nice graphics. Definetly need a current system with 2 gigs and a good video card. Gameplay is a bit linear (o.k., alot linear). Good recreation.

I recently bought BioShock through Steam because it was discounted. Basically, you can't own this game. You either buy the physical copy and have limited installs, or you buy it through Steam and be forced to log in every time you want to play.
So after I asked Valve for permission to play the game I just payed for, the real disappointment set in. I've read dozens of articles that describe this game as being like System Shock. It has exactly three things in common with System Shock: ... Read More

An unusual game. I was not impressed at first but friends told me to stick with it. They were right, it does get better as you go on. A simple FPS can get boring after a while. This FPS has some unusual play aspects and a plot. Like any good plot, it has some interesting twists and turns that will surprise you. The game was definitely worth it. The only downside was you get killed fairly easily and regenerated often. After a while, you learn to use that to your advantage.

When I bought this game for my brother, I never intended to play it. But every time I walked in on him as he roamed the gorgeous levels with their art deco-inspired architecture, picked up jarring recorded diaries detailing the intriguing and horrific fall of a utopia, engaged in epic firefights with mutants through glass corridors hemmed in by the murky, hungry waters of the Atlantic, sneaked through flickering rooms pasted with old posters and decorated with wonderful art deco statuary and echoing ... Back in June I replaced my 7 year old Toshiba laptop with a newer machine that sported an Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS card with 512MB. While at the store I also bought a bunch of games that would run with Vista. The salesman told me that BIOSHOCK was written by the same folks that did SYSTEMSHOCK AND SYSTEMSHOCK II, two games that I really enjoyed. Because I work on a ship and had no internet access I had to wait until I got home to finally install the game. I agree with the opinions of others about the ... Read More
