The premise of this exhausting action-comedy (no relation to the 1941 Alfred Hitchcock comedy starring Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery) is that the unhappily married Smiths (Pitt and Jolie) will improve their relationship once they discover their mutually-hidden identities as world-class assassins, but things get complicated when their secret-agency bosses order them to rub each other out. There's plenty of amusing banter in the otherwise disposable screenplay by Simon Kinberg (xXx: State of the Union, Fantastic Four), and director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) gives Pitt and Jolie a slick, glossy superstar showcase that's innocuous but certainly never boring. This is one of my favorite comedy/action movies! I thought it was hilarious and I liked the brad/angelina pair A LOT! They are great together(even in real life)..great movie!

The great driving force of this movie is not the plot or the characters, but the two stars. This is where Hollywood succeeds matching two actors that have enormous chemistry together and placing them on the big screen. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie know what they're doing in this film, and you know they know how much to give and when to pull back. The action sequences are incredible and almost Tarantino like, all in all a popcorn bowl of fun movie watching for men and women.

I love everything about this movie. Vince Vaughn didn't have a large role but he was funny. Brad and Angelina play well off each other. The blu-ray video and audio quality were reference. The surrounds were used extensively. One of my favorite movies on blu-ray.

The Bottom Line:
A star vehicle and nothing more, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is reminiscent of Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief: both movies seem to feel that watching sexy stars interact is inherently interesting when all the evidence points to the contrary.

Ok to watch it while playing guitar or something else but to give 2 hours to this movie is not worthwhile. The plot is insultingly stupid but the action is fun.
