After reading the rave reviews I was really excited to get this product. I have very oily skin and after a few hours my face is always shiny. The product description notes that the primer is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin, which is what I have. Today was the first day I have used the primer and I am disappointed. After a few hours my face is as shiny as it always is without the primer. I may try to use more in the future and refridgerate the product, but I'm not hopeful. I think i'll try Smashbox's ... I have never bothered with primer before but I thought I may as well join the bandwagon. Having decided to reacquaint myself with Laura Mercier products, I bought the Oil-Free Primer and Translucent Loose Powder.

I actually liked the way this product provided a good foundation base, but it was just way too drying for my skin. I returned it and may give the hydrating version a try.

This primer is truly amazing....just a little bit goes a long way.....applies nice and absorbs quickly, you don't even feel anything on your face...keeps my makeup fresh for hours.....you would never know I have oily skin with this product...an absolute must buy.....you will be very happy with this product...

I don't usually bother to review products online, but felt compelled to do so when I read the other 5 star reviews of this product. I am 41 years old, and my skin is still fairly oily. I have minimal lines and sun damage. I do, however, still have breakouts, particularly from many skin products (moisturizers, sunscreens, foundations--you name it) on the market.
