Like other reviewers, I experienced problems with setting up the device. On a 4-year old Dell Optiplex dedicated solely to the task, it would alternately work and not work as I moved it from my setup and test area to the computer's final destination next to the phone. I realized that the adapter worked when plugged into the front panel USB ports, but not when plugged into the back! Well It's been a couple weeks since I installed this device on my PC and it has run like a champ. I guess they have ironed out the driver bugs since it was released 2 years ago because it took no real effort to install. The manual is pretty useless though. The one hiccup I found while installing the device was getting the driver to connect with Skype. It turns out that you have to change Skype's audio settings before it will connect with the device. Was a serious pain to install, but after reading other reviews on Amazon I discovered that you do not want to use the install disc that comes with the device. Instead, go to D-link's web site and download the Vista driver. I believe it is version 1.10 and then use the set-up application in the downloaded file. Also, you have to change the settings under Skype options to make sure you are using your phone as the voip capture and voip playback. After I did that it worked fine although I still have to use ... Could not get this to work. D-link tech support hours are limited if you happen to work for a living and can't take 4 hours off to be on the phone and still not get your problems resolved. There are better adapters out there. I'd avoid this one.

If you're looking for a very useful product at a great price, this is it. Very easy to set up and has very good sound quality. Make sure to use the driver for Atcom's AU-600 driver since the D-link driver is not updated and has defects. I recommend to anyone that uses Skype.
